ENVIRONMENTAL EXPLORERS

​

 

Bringing the senses alive as we explore the natural world of the park – a delight for Nursery and Reception classes (and adults too!)­. For Years 1 and 2 we investigate the environment in a more structured way, discovering the animals and plants that make their homes in the different habitats around the park.

​

Curriculum Links

​

  • Plants - Identify and name a variety of common wild and garden plants, including deciduous and evergreen trees.

​​

  • Living things and their habitats - Explore and compare the differences between things that are living, dead, and things that have never been alive.

​​

  • Living things and their habitats - Identify that most living things live in habitats to which they are suited and describe how different habitats provide for basic needs of different kind of animals and plants, and how they depend on each other.

​​

  • Living things and their habitats - Identify and name a variety of plants and animals in their habitats, including micro-habitats.​
