ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE

Setpoint London East is an educational charity based in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.  We are passionate about science, and the valuable life skills it develops.

Since 1997 we have been teaching a range of highly-regarded science and nature workshops, reaching around 7,500 children each year from over 60 local schools.  Workshops are led by our inspirational Education Manager, Dimuthu Meehitiya, who makes sure that every child gets the support they need to get ‘stuck in’ and learn through hands-on experience.

For older children we have a range of workshops in STEM topics (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).  These can be tailored to the needs of the class and delivered in your school or here at the Centre.

We are based at the Soanes Centre in Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park – a 33-acre woodland nature reserve just a few minutes’ walk from Mile End underground station.  Most workshops involve some time in our classroom and some time working in the outdoor classroom that is the Park.   The Park is also the setting for our Forest School and Bushcraft activities.
